A Proficiency Exam will be held for students who took optional English preparatory courses at the Fırat University School of Foreign Languages in the 2025-2026 academic year and failed despite meeting the attendance requirements. Information regarding the exam is as follows:
The Proficiency Exam will be held in two sessions on Monday, September 14, 2026 and Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The first session, called the General Skills Exam, will measure grammar, vocabulary, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and writing comprehension. The second session, called the Oral Exam, will measure speaking comprehension.
Students scoring 60 or higher on the General Skills Exam will be eligible to take the Oral Exam.
The Proficiency Exam passing score will be calculated by taking 75% of the General Skills Exam result and 25% of the Oral Exam result. Students with a total score of 70 or higher from both sessions will be considered successful.
Session times and locations will be announced later.
Students enrolled in the optional preparatory class will continue their studies in their respective departments regardless of their academic performance.
